Considering Fifth Nine for a problem in your business? Give this prompt to the assistant you already use. It asks up to eight questions and writes a short brief. Read it, edit it, then send it to Matt below.
Already have your brief? Paste it below ↓Give your AI
the context.
Copy works with ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Gemini.
Use the AI assistant your company approves for work. The prompt tells it to leave out personal details, passwords, contract terms and exact financials. Nothing is sent anywhere until you paste the brief below.
If it doesn't send by itself, press Send. If the prompt is still in the message box after ChatGPT replies, clear it before typing your answers.
The Claude desktop link fills the prompt without sending it. You need the app installed. You can always copy the text into your assistant instead.
The prompt, in full
You're helping me prepare a brief for Fifth Nine, a technology consultancy my company is considering. The brief lets our first call start from facts instead of introductions. Don't send, share, or save anything anywhere. I'll read the brief and decide what to pass on. Work in three steps: 1. Gather. Use what you already know about me and my company, plus any files, email, or connected apps you can search. List the sources you used. 2. Ask. Then ask what you still need in ONE message: no more than 8 short questions in plain language (I may not be technical). Grouping related items in one question is fine. Cover whatever you're still missing from this list: the company's name, website, and what it sells; the main problem, what it costs, and the systems and people involved; who would sponsor the work, who decides, and whether it's a top-5 priority for the owner or CEO; the one number that would prove it worked; budget range and timeline; what we've already tried; the kinds of real examples we could share after an NDA; and what I want to know about Fifth Nine. If I answer "skip", treat it as unknown. 3. Write. Facts only; write "unknown" rather than guess. One short bullet per fact, under 100 characters. End every bullet that states a fact with exactly one of these tags, and no other tag: [files] for my files, email, or apps; [me] only when it repeats something I told you; [inferred] for anything you interpreted, combined, or added. A bullet that says "unknown" gets no tag. Before you show the brief, check each [me] bullet against what I actually said, and change it to [inferred] if it adds anything. Keep out anything that shouldn't reach an outside firm before an NDA: personal details of customers or employees, passwords or keys, contract terms, and exact non-public financials (ranges are fine). If a source contains these, summarize around them. Put the brief in one markdown code block, under 900 words. Its first line must be: fifthnine-intake: v1 Then use exactly these headings, in this order, without adding the descriptions: ## Company ## Problems ## How the work runs today ## What done looks like ## Constraints ## Examples ## Questions for Fifth Nine ## Gaps What goes under each: - Company: name, website, industry, location, headcount; what the company sells, and to whom. - Problems: the 1-3 problems we most want solved, most important first. For each: what happens today, what it costs (hours, money, or risk; rough is fine), and why now. Whether it's on the owner's or CEO's top-5 list, who would sponsor it, and who decides. - How the work runs today: main systems and tools; who does the work (roles, not names) and rough volumes; where the data lives, and whether an outside engineer could get read-only access. - What done looks like: the one number that would prove it worked, and its value today; what should be true 90 days from now; what would make this a clear win for the sponsor, and what would make it a waste of time. - Constraints: budget range, timeline, security or compliance rules, what we've already tried and what happened. - Examples: only the kinds of real examples (a quote, a ticket, a report, a spreadsheet) I said we could share after an NDA; otherwise "unknown". - Questions for Fifth Nine: only the questions I asked; don't add your own. - Gaps: anything important you couldn't find or I skipped. After the brief, ask me whether anything is wrong or shouldn't be shared.
